The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens is taking place on 5 December -7 December 2019 at The Sevens Stadium and is without a doubt the sporting event of the year. The UAE National Sevens side has been a regular feature in the International open section of the tournament which gives the National side the opportunity to play against some of the world’s top rugby teams.
In 2013, UAERF development side Shaheen entered The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens for the first time. This was a historic event for the all-Emirati development side and featured on the World of Rugby TV programme.
As part of their continual development into rugby’s international stage, UAERF has again entered this year's International Mens Open competition with an all Emirati UAE National team. This is a big step for the federation as they have also entered the Gulf Mens Open competition with their all Emirati Shaheen team, showing how they have developed from previous years.
